Connections
Connect other AI apps (MCP)
Use Twelve Seat from Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code or your own code.
Twelve Seat has an MCP server. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI apps use to plug into other software. Once connected, you can ask Claude or ChatGPT things like "What did my board decide about pricing?" or "Convene the C-suite on next quarter's hiring plan", and they work with Twelve Seat directly.
Your server URL
Find it in Settings → AI connections. It's your Twelve Seat address followed by /api/mcp.
Two ways to connect
- Sign in (OAuth): Claude, ChatGPT and Claude Code open a Twelve Seat approval screen. You choose Read only or Read and act and click Allow. No token to copy.
- Access token: for Cursor, VS Code, scripts and other tools. Create one in Settings → AI connections. It's shown once, so copy it. The app sends it as
Authorization: Bearer ts_pat_….
Quick guides
- Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the URL → Connect → Allow.
- ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings → turn on Developer mode → Create → paste the URL, choose OAuth → Connect.
- Claude Code: run
claude mcp add --transport http twelve-seat <your URL>, then use/mcpto sign in. - Cursor and other editors: add the URL and an
Authorization: Bearerheader to the editor's mcp.json. - Claude, OpenAI or xAI APIs: pass the URL and your token as a remote MCP server.
Settings → AI connections has copy-ready instructions for each app, filled in with your URL and token.
What a connected AI can do
- Read only: business overview, Company Brain search, advisors, action items, meetings and transcripts, open questions, CRM, vendor contracts, and asking your Executive Assistant (which uses your AI keys).
- Read and act adds: convene meetings, add or update action items, answer advisor questions, save facts to memory, create CRM tasks, and send tasks to Grok Bot.
Safety
- Connected apps never see your API keys and can't delete anything.
- Every request is logged under Settings → AI connections → Recent activity.
- Disconnect an app or revoke a token anytime; it stops working immediately.
- Only business owners can connect AI apps. Employees can't.
Troubleshooting
- "Sign in required" or 401: the token was revoked or mistyped, or the sign-in expired. Reconnect or create a new token.
- "This connection is read-only": reconnect and choose Read and act, or create a Read and act token.
- The app can't find the server: make sure the URL ends in
/api/mcpand starts with https. - Rate limit: up to 60 requests a minute per account.
